Watertown Addition
Wanting to stay in their home and community but needing more space, this family created a two story addition off the back corner of their home. A new entrance near the driveway allowed for a large mudroom area to shed shoes, backpacks and coats. The lower entry level is designed for flexibly - an accessible bathroom should anyone need it, a bedroom or office, and a large playroom. Once up the stairs the existing kitchen is ahead, and in the new space is a TV room, craft area, and glass doors to a new deck. The stairs are wrapped in bookshelves for the family’s extensive book collection. The fun colors of the original home transition into the new space to smooth the edge of old and new.
